The mentorship program is also first of the kind in this area. She shines provides mentorship to teenage girls in rural parts of Western Kenya. This program is intended to understand the issues teenage girls face and promote education for girls in the area and to reduce the current primary school drop-out rate, teenage pregnancy and early marriages. Girls receive mentorship talks by experienced and successful women from the area. Since the program was established in 2018, over 500 teenage girls from 4 primary schools have benefited from the programs. Since its inception, the mentorship program has led to an increased number of girls joining high school and to a drop in the number of teenage pregnancies from these schools.
